PlayRead​VIP uses the 
power of video feedback
to support parents
​and caregivers and build upon their strengths.

​​Parents build positive parenting skills like talking, teaching, reading, and playing - all known to have strong benefits for early relational health and children's school readiness.

​Parents and caregivers work towards ​their own goals, with opportunities to play and learn with their child.  VIP visits include strengths-based feedback​ and a fun toy or book to keep.

We know families are busy, and PlayReadVIP is built to be convenient. Visits with a PlayReadVIP Coach are offered in places where parents are already going: the pediatrician's office, a community center, their own home, or even virtually.

This program has been rigorously studied by a world-class team of pediatricians and developmental psychologists. 

​This research includes 4 different randomized-controlled trials with over 1,000 participants from three different cities. The evidence is clear: PlayReadVIP works.

Improved Early Relational Health

• Increased reading, play, talking, teaching (Mendelsohn, 2011; Cates, 2018; Roby, 2021; Miller, 2023)
• Decreased screen time (Mendelsohn, 2011)
• Decreased physical punishment (Canfield, 2015)

Improved Child Development

• Increased language, literacy, and cognition (Mendelsohn, 2005, 2007, 2013; Miller, 2024)
