Our Mission

The mission of PlayReadVIP is to promote early relational health and thereby prevent disparities in child development and school readiness at population-level, before these disparities emerge. PlayReadVIP works to fulfill this mission using real-time video-feedback at pediatric health care visits to reinforce strengths and build family resilience. PlayReadVIP addresses a critical social justice challenge facing the United States - inequality of opportunity for young children in families facing structural barriers related to poverty and racism. ​
